On 2 August 2027 the Moon's shadow crosses Upper Egypt and stands over Luxor for six minutes and twenty-three seconds, the longest totality left this century. Egypt Eclipse is the gathering built around that moment: a week on the Nile and the West Bank, the temples of Karnak and Luxor, a New Moon ceremony on the eve, and totality itself from the Luxor Eclipse Gathering.
It is the second chapter of the Eclipse Trilogy: three total eclipses, three summers, one community learning to gather in remote places under real conditions.
Iceland taught us the difference between people who came to consume an experience and people who showed up to build it with us. Egypt is designed for the second group. Everyone who comes contributes something they have in excess: what they pay, what they build, or who they bring and what they offer. Nobody arrives having only paid; nobody arrives having only given.
The first chapter. 4,200 people from 70 countries at the edge of the Arctic, a Round Table of 38, and a festival city built and struck in a fortnight. It proved the gathering could be done, and it showed us the difference between people who came to consume and people who came to build.
The longest totality left this century, over the temples of Luxor. Smaller and deliberately built on participation: every pathway includes the Gathering, and every participant contributes something they have in excess. The Council, Crew, Voyager and Ambassador structures debut here.
The third chapter, as the shadow crosses Australia and New Zealand. Trilogy credit earned in Egypt carries forward to it, and the people who build Egypt are the first we call for 2028. Dates and pathways to be announced.
Every pathway includes the Luxor Eclipse Gathering on 1 and 2 August: Karnak, the New Moon ceremony, and totality on the West Bank. The pathways differ in where you sleep and how you travel to that moment, not in whether you are part of it.
Two chartered ships sail from Aswan and meet the West Bank hotels at Luxor for the Gathering, then return south by Edfu and Kom Ombo to Abu Simbel and Philae. The Giza Activation adds three nights in Cairo and Giza from 6 to 9 August and is open to all, and the Lion’s Gate Celebration at the Sphinx on 8 August can be joined on its own. A Family pathway in a nearby West Bank hotel is in development.

IMXP, Immersive Experiences, produces the Eclipse Trilogy and is building the operating system for gatherings like it: the ticketing, pathways, team structure and community tools that let a small core deploy a transformative gathering anywhere on Earth. The Egypt team is deliberately small at the top. Four people hold the whole: direction, sales, systems and product, marketing and community. Everything else is organized by pathway, so the people who run a boat or a hotel can run it.
Crew are the people who make the gathering happen. They bring their work before, during and after the Event, and they bring their people as Ambassadors. In exchange their place is provided from the outset, and each role carries a defined scope, deliverables and compensation set out in writing.
We are looking for people who already do this well somewhere else: hosts who can hold a boat or a hotel of a hundred people for a week, trip guides who know the temples and love teaching them, ceremony and programming leads, production and operations people who are calm at 2 a.m., and experience designers who can level up a chartered ship into something that belongs to this gathering. The common trait is that they give gladly and hold expectations lightly. Iceland showed us both what that looks like and what its absence costs.
The Trilogy Council is an advisory circle of six, drawn from the community that has formed across Iceland and Egypt, meeting bi-weekly through the planning year. Its role is counsel, not command: non-binding voting, no direct compensation beyond a place at the Event and recognition, and a standing seat at the table for what comes after Egypt. Council members sit beside the IMXP team on the chart, not above or below it, and the dotted line is deliberate.
Current members: Fei'Ara, Jackie, Ipek, Basma, Presi and Omar.
IMXP and the Council at the top. Beneath them the Crew who work across every pathway: hosts, trip guides, ceremony and programming, production, and ENEV Travel as operator. Then the pathways themselves, each with its own hosts and guides: the two cruise ships, the West Bank hotels, and the Giza Activation. Voyagers and Ambassadors sit alongside rather than inside the structure; they bring their work and their people to it.
65 planned places across the team, per the Staffing tab. Counts are targets, not headcount today.
A working calendar from now to the Event, by lane. Dated items come from the agreements and terms; undated ones are placeholders to be set. Edit freely; this is the scaffold, not the plan.
Fixed dates: 15 Oct 2026 Change of Plans coverage · 31 Dec 2026 Senator sell-by and Celebrity community allocation release · 1 Jun 2027 balance due, Pathway and Contribution Credit applied, Contribution schedules confirmed · 1 Jul 2027 last second-place transfers · 30 Jul–6 Aug 2027 cruise · 1–2 Aug Gathering · 6–9 Aug Giza · 150 days after the Event, commission holdback released.
Most of what happens at Egypt Eclipse is brought by the people who come. The temples, the river and totality are the frame; the talks, ceremonies, music, practices and conversations inside it come from Voyagers, Crew and the participants themselves.
That is deliberate. Iceland showed that a program bought in and delivered to an audience produces consumers. A program offered by people who are also travelling, eating and watching the sky beside you produces a community. So Voyagers are not booked as talent; they are participants who have offered something, with their place earned through the Voyager Agreement and their contribution recognised with a standard $5,000 credit, the same for everyone regardless of what they bring.
The Staffing plan holds 28 Featured Participant places across the pathways: eight on each cruise ship, four at Marsam, four at Omda and four on the Family pathway, in formats from music and ceremony to talks, workshops and guided practice. Crew lead ceremony and programming across all of them, and the Gathering itself is built so that every pathway meets.
Programming is organised in five tracks that run across the pathways and converge at Luxor. Their names are still being settled; the frame is: ceremony and the sky, the ancient blueprint, embodied practice, music and performance, and the conversations about what gatherings like this are for.
Each pathway has its own rhythm, and they cross at set moments. The two ships moor at Luxor on 1 and 2 August and everyone, cruise guests and hotel guests alike, is on the West Bank together for the New Moon ceremony and totality. On 3 August the ships’ West Bank day puts cruise guests at the Valley of the Kings alongside the hotel groups. Giza brings a smaller set together again from the 6th, and the Lion’s Gate Celebration at the Sphinx on the 8th opens to all.
A Voyager’s place is on one pathway, but their work travels. Contribution schedules are written so that a musician on the Crown Prince can play the Celebrity’s evening while the ships are moored together, a practice leader at Omda can hold a morning session for cruise guests on the West Bank day, and the Gathering stages are shared by everyone. Movement between boats and hotels is arranged by Crew, within the operator’s plan, so that programming stays a single program rather than six.
Three things, written into the agreement: one piece of content before the Event introducing the contribution, presence at the Luxor Eclipse Gathering on 1 and 2 August, and one reflection within 30 days after. Everything else is offered, not hired, and not for sale to participants on site.
Gold is the Luxor Eclipse Gathering: it opens at midday on 1 August with the New Moon ceremony, holds totality on the 2nd, and closes with the send-off brunch at midday on the 3rd, so the first and last cells are half-shaded. The ships are moored at Luxor throughout and cruise and hotel guests are on the West Bank together; the hotels never leave the West Bank. The Lion’s Gate Celebration on 8 August is the other shared moment. Family pathway omitted until dates are set.
Pulled from the checkout on 4 October 2026. The site describes these as the shape being planned, not a fixed schedule.
Gathering pass: for those with their own place to stay. New Moon opening 1 Aug, eclipse viewing and celebration 2 Aug, send-off brunch 3 Aug, shared transport from set pick-up points in Luxor. About thirty-six hours around totality.
Egypt Eclipse borrows some words from Iceland and gives them new jobs, and it runs on a few habits that are not obvious from the outside. Both are worth knowing before you read anything else here.
A participant. Someone who comes to Egypt Eclipse on a pathway and takes part. Most people are Seekers; the other roles are ways of going further, not ways of being above.
In Iceland, Voyager was the VIP offering: a better ticket. In Egypt it is a role, not a tier of comfort. A Voyager brings something of their own to the program and brings their people, under the Voyager Agreement. Their place is earned through Pathway Credit, a standard $5,000 Contribution Credit and commission, and their work appears in the program under the Featured Participant designation.
The designation used in the program and public materials for someone whose contribution is part of the Event: a talk, a ceremony, a performance, a practice. Every Voyager is a Featured Participant; a Crew Member may also be one. Offered, not hired: no fee, nothing sold to participants on site.
Someone who brings their people. Promotes the gathering through their own channels with their own code; travelers using it save 10%. Earns Pathway Credit toward their own place and commission above it. The base agreement that Voyager and Crew build on.
The people who make the gathering happen, with a defined role, scope and deliverables in Exhibit B of the Crew Agreement. Their place is provided from the outset; they are paid a fee and commission from the first dollar. Work Exchange sits inside Crew: participants who take on defined work in exchange for part or all of their place. Formerly "Core Contributor" and, on the Staffing tab, "Core." Crew is a tier with its own agreement, so it is not used loosely for everyone involved.
The Luxor Eclipse Gathering, 1 and 2 August 2027: Karnak, the New Moon ceremony, totality on the West Bank. Included in every pathway. When we say "the gathering" with a small g, we mean the whole event and the community around it.
A way in. Where you sleep and how you travel to the Gathering: the two cruise ships, the West Bank hotels, the Gathering pass, the Giza Activation, the Lion’s Gate pass, and the Family pathway in development. Pathways differ in accommodation, not in whether you are part of the Gathering.
The $999 that starts every booking on a pathway that is not paid in full at checkout, per the Terms and Conditions. For Ambassadors and Voyagers it is refunded in cash at $10,000 in Confirmed Bookings. For Crew it is waived.
Three things, all related. The Eclipse Trilogy: Iceland 2026, Egypt 2027, Australasia 2028. The Trilogy Council: six advisors who sit beside IMXP across all three. Trilogy credit: commission taken at 1.25x toward Australasia instead of cash. And the Trilogy Pass sold to participants, which covers gatherings beyond Egypt and sits outside the Ambassador commission.
An advisory circle, not a board: six members, non-binding voting, no direct compensation beyond a place and recognition, bi-weekly meetings through planning. Drawn on the chart with a dotted line to IMXP for a reason.
The lineage this work stands in: from Babylon and the Chinese court astronomers, through Oregon 2017 and Texas 2024, to the Trilogy. Each gathering is one more entry in a very old record of people travelling to stand in the shadow together. Wording to confirm with Mitch.
How every IMXP gathering opens to the public: the first public sale. The moment the first pathways go on sale to people outside the community that has been following along, and the first time most participants meet the gathering. Everything before it is invitation; First Contact is when the doors open.
The celebration at the Sphinx on the evening of 8 August, within the Giza Activation and open as a standalone pass. Named for the Lion’s Gate Portal, the 8/8 alignment with Sirius.
Hello, and welcome, in Egyptian Arabic. The greeting on everything we send, and the inbox: marhaba@egypt-eclipse.com.
IMXP, Immersive Experiences, produces the Trilogy through Egypt Eclipse LLC and is building the platform that runs it. ENEV Travel, Étapes Nouvelles Egypte Voyages, is the licensed Egyptian operator for the river, the ground and the temples.
The organising idea. Everyone who comes contributes something they have in excess: what they pay, what they build, or who they bring and what they offer. Nobody arrives having only paid; nobody arrives having only given. Iceland taught us the cost of designing for consumers.
Agreements are written to be read by the person signing them, not just their lawyer. One base agreement, three versions, each saying exactly what the role gets and gives. If a term needs a diagram, it needs rewriting.
Contributions to the program are gifts recognised with a standard credit, not performances bought at a fee. The same credit for everyone, whatever they bring, so the program stays a community rather than a lineup.
Four people at the top. Everything else is organised by pathway, so the people who run a boat or a hotel can run it. Hosts, guides and production sit with their pathway, not in a department.
Pathways differ in where you sleep. The program is shared: Featured Participants move between boats and hotels, the Gathering stages are everyone’s, and Crew arrange the movement within the operator’s plan.
The Council advises. IMXP decides and owns the outcome. That separation is what lets the Council be honest.
The voice guide: a storyteller guiding a caravan. We describe the Event as it is and promise no outcomes, medical, spiritual or otherwise. Words we avoid: transformation, energy, curated. The past is fuel, not decoration.
The $999 is skin in the game for participants and Ambassadors alike, not a revenue line. It comes back when the commitment is kept.
Credits vest on Confirmed Bookings, cash on Attributed Revenue, both reconciled on a statement on the 15th of each month. Nobody should learn their number at the end.
Iceland’s lessons are stated, not buried. When something is not yet decided, the document says so and names who decides.
